Dynamos’ new technical will be hoping to start their tenure on a positive note when they face FC Platinum at Mandava this afternoon.
Lloyd Chigove, assisted by Murape Murape, replaced coach Lloyd Mutasa who was fired this week after a string of poor results. The new setup has been tasked to save the club from relegation, and their first assignment is a tricky one considering the Zvishavane side is chasing the title.
The case is also made worse by the fact that they haven’t picked at least a draw in the tie since May 2015. The record means Pure Platinum Play have registered six consecutive victories. The last meeting which was played at Rufaro Stadium ended in 2-0 win for the visitors.
Dembare midfielder Kudzanayi Dhemere is not available for the clash due to suspension while striker Kingston Nkhatha will be hoping to pull himself up after failing to impress in the previous round.
At Barbourfields Stadium, relegation-threatened Bulawayo City welcome second-placed Ngezi Platinum Stars.
City are at the bottom of the table and a drop of points this afternoon will be another tremendous blow to their fading hopes of surviving relegation.
Ngezi, on the other hand, are just two points behind FC Platinum and a win will keep them not far away from the leaders in the title race.
In other matches set for today, Harare City host Chicken Inn at Rufaro Stadium while Black Rhinos entertain Triangle United at National Sports Stadium.
