Bulawayo Chiefs, AS Roma’s No 1 team in Zim

They might be failing to attract big crowds at stadiums, but Bulawayo Chiefs have become a darling to many on Twitter.

With close to 4 800 followers and still growing, the league debutants have been leading by example, leaving other clubs like Chicken Inn, Black Rhinos and even giants Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United to follow suit.

They now have an new ‘equally insane brother’, AS Roma. Yes, Bulawayo Chiefs, a “small” club from Zimbabwe has become the Serie A giants’ number one team in Zimbawe.

It’s not a secret that Chiefs have revolutionised the social media engagement as far as local football is concerned.

Proclaiming themselves as the giant slayers, Amakhosi Amahle also boast they are the only team that can get a coach from the rival side fired. Well, one can wonder how is that possible, but after the sacking of Dynamos gaffer Lloyd Mutasa following their goalless draw last weekend, they can tell that they have the right to claim that.

Crazy as they can be, they now say a game against English side Manchester United has been arranged so that the under-fire coach Jose Mourinho gets sacked after the encounter.

Well, we don’t know much about this Manchester United clash, but tomorrow, the Good Chiefs face Nichrut and its a must-win-game for them, so they remain safe from relegation. They are just a point above the drop zone.
