Some Dynamos executive members have blamed the board led by Bernard Marriot Lusengo for the poor run in the league which has the left the club on the verge of relegation.
The board members who spoke on condition of anonymity said the executive is just there for ‘window dressing’ but the day to day running is still being done by Marriot through his right-hand man Webster Marechera.
“Forget about Solomon Sanyamandwe being the man in charge, Marriot has a lot of interference. Sanyamandwe is going to suffer the same fate that befell Kenny Mubaiwa and will also leave in frustration after pouring a lot of money into the club. He recently fired Marechera and Moses Chikwairo, but Marriot reinstated them,” said one source.
“The team is no longer camping because of the problems in the executive. With the position we are at, we can’t afford to just the players from their home and straight to the stadium.”
The executive members also blamed Marriot for protecting coach Lloyd Mutasa even when it was clear that he had failed in his mandate.
“When Mubaiwa relieved Mutasa of his duties as head coach, Marriot overturned the decision and imposed him back. So all the problems are coming from one person who is forcing his ideas on every decision to be made by the club.”
After taking over the reins from Mubaiwa, Sanyamandwe fired Marechera and unpopular Chikwairo but Marriot overturned the decision and reinstated them causing more chaos and tension within the executive.
Dynamos are just two points ahead of Nichrut who holds the last relegation spot with just seven games before the end of the season.
