Dynamos stand-in head coach Joseph Takaringofa has explained why veteran forward Kingstone Nkatha didn’t feature against Highlanders yet he received his reverse transfer clearance from South Africa.
Nkhatha was supposed to make his long-awaited debut on Sunday but was not on the bench when his team lost 3-0 in the Battle of Zimbabwe despite being included in the 18-man squad.
Takaringofa said they decided to drop the forward after he requested to attend to a personal family issue.
“We wanted him to play in this match, but we allowed him to attended to a family issue. All his papers are now okay, and he was eligible to play,” said the Dynamos assistant coach who took charge of the match in the absence of Lloyd Mutasa.
The Glamour Boys will play Chapungu on Thursday, and it’s still unclear whether Nkhatha will be available by then.
