Log leaders FC Platinum will be hoping to build from their last week’s win away to Bulawayo Chiefs when they host Chapungu this afternoon.
Pure Platinum Play had struggled to get maximum points since the start of the second half of the season, losing at home to ZPC Kariba before two draws against Yadah and Caps United.
“We need to build on from the momentum that we had against Bulawayo Chiefs. We struggled in the first half, but we finished strongly in the second half in which we could have scored more than one goal. We just need to carry on from the second half performance against Chiefs,” said coach Norman Mapeza.
“Chapungu are one of those teams fighting against relegation so we know that they are going to be very tough. They also want to win to maintain their status in the Premier League, but we also want to remain at the top and retain our title.”
Chapungu, meanwhile, beefed their squad during the mid-season transfer window by bringing in the likes of Raphael Manuvire who terminated his contract with Dynamos, former Harare City midfielder James Jam and unattached Osborne Mukuradare.
