Barcelona announced that they signed Bordeaux winger Malcom on a five-year contract.
Malcom has been attracting interest from the Premier League and Serie A, and it had been expected that the Brazilian would sign for Roma after terms were agreed between the clubs and the player.
However, on Monday, Barcelona made an improved bid for the 21-year-old which resulted in Bordeaux preventing Malcom from finalising a switch to the Stadio Olimpico.
Barcelona have now confirmed that they have won the race to sign the player for a fee of €42m (£37.34m) – subject to a medical – with Malcom committing his future to the Catalan giants until 2023.
Malcom leaves Bordeaux having scored a total of 20 goals in 84 appearances in Ligue 1.
