FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza says there is still a long way to go in the title race.
Pure Platinum Play beat their closest championship rivals Ngezi Platinum to move three points clear on top while Ngezi are second with 38 points.
When asked after the game if the win had boosted their chances of landing the title, Mapeza said: “It’s still too early to talk up about the championship.
“If you guys (media) want to decide who is going to win, it’s up to you, but I know it’s game on for us.
“There are still 18 games to be played, and there will be twists and turns in the title race.”
Donald Teguru opened the scoring in the 41st minute to put the hosts in the lead. Winston Mhango converted from the spot in the 88th minute to equalise before substitute Never Tigere put the game to bed in the last minute of the encounter.
FC Platinum will face Highlanders in their next match before the league goes on two-week season break.
