Caps United coach Lloyd Chitembwe revelled in the team’s 3-0 victory over ZPC Kariba saying it was a sweet victory after having gone for four matches without a win.
Makepekepe had last won away to Nichrut in match-day which saw them lose much distance against log leaders Ngezi Platinum.
A brace from John Zhuwawu and a strike from Denver Mukamba from the spot gave Chitembwe a sigh of relief and something to cheer about.
“This is a sweet victory for us after having failed to get maximum points in the last games. We have been correcting some mistakes that we noted from the previous games, and I am happy that the boys did that,” said Chitembwe.
Chitembwe made some crucial decisions in the build-up to last weekend’s trip to Highlanders when he dropped porous Dennis Dauda and put in Godwin Goriyati to partner Justice Jangano.
The win ended ZPC Kariba’s eight-match unbeaten run and put back the pressure on coach Godfrey Tamirepi whose job has been linked with a number of Harare based coaches including Lloyd Mutasa and Kalisto Pasuwa.
