Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderayi Ndiraya was diplomatic in his response to allegations raised by FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza last week that Ngezi were getting fairer advantage from the fixtures as they play a day before the Zvishavane based side.
Speaking at a press conference before FC Platinum’s match against Dynamos last weekend, Mapeza is reported to have said that the fixtures were somehow favouring Ngezi as his team will have to play catch up.
However, Ndiraya who rarely picks up arguments said the league was still very in its infancy to come up with such assumptions.
“I wouldn’t want to respond to what coach Norman Mapeza said, but he is entitled to his own opinion. And if you ask me it’s still very early in the season, I am sure the PSL cannot start changing the fixtures now. This is how the fixtures are, and I think it’s still early for us to talk about that,” said Ndiraya.
The two platinum miners are emerging as the front-runners for the title with Ngezi Platinum reopening the six-point lead ahead of FC Platinum’s fixture against Nichrut today. Ngezi yesterday broke its Ascot jinx against Chapungu getting its first win at the stadium through a Walter Mukanga strike.
