Chapungu has vowed to end Ngezi Platinum’s long unbeaten run when the two teams clash in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League at Ascot Stadium today.
Thirteenth-placed Chapungu go into the match on the back of a win and a draw, while Platinum is enjoying a 12 match unbeaten streak and are yet to taste defeat in the league so far.
Tonderai Ndiraya’s men visit Ascot in a solid form, having last tasted defeat in August last year.
This great form has propelled the Madamburo outfit into genuine title contenders and they currently lead the log standings over second-placed FC Platinum by three points.
But the Airforce men are unfazed by the prospect of confronting their on-form opponent.
Speaking to the Herald Chapungu coach Rodwell Dhlakama says the team is determined to secure victory from the clash.
“When we take to the field against them we will not look into their record or current form but we will do all we can to get maximum points.
“We have a good record against Ngezi and we will do our best to maintain that good run,” said Dhlakama.
