Real Madrid’s star player Cristiano Ronaldo suffered an injury scare against arch rivals Barcelona less than three weeks before their Champions League final against Liverpool in Kiev.
The Reds are bidding to lift the European Cup for the sixth time and prevent the Spanish giants from winning the competition for three consecutive seasons – a feat not achieved since Bayern Munich’s win in 1976.
Jurgen Klopp’s chances of success could be handed a significant boost if Real’s talisman and all-time leading scoring is absent from the big game.
Real drew 2-2 at Barca – who had already clinched this season’s La Liga title – at Camp Nou but the Portuguese ace did not emerge for the second half after hurting himself while netting a 14 minute equaliser.
Zidane said: “Ronaldo said it was something minor. We will look tomorrow and see what damage has been done, he is a little bit worried (about Kiev) but says it’s something minor.
“Right now it’s not good but I think it’s minor. It’s just the movement, tomorrow we’ll see. He said it’s minor.”
