Kaitano Tembo will take charge of his first CAF Confederation Cup match today since his appointment as a caretaker coach at SuperSport United.
The former Warriors defender took over after Eric Tinkler resigned last week for failing to halt a slump since they lost 2-1 on aggregate to TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Confederation Cup final.
Tembo’s first interclub assignment is against Angolan side Petro Atletico in Luanda.
Petro served notice of their intentions by hammering Masters Security of Malawi 5-0 in the preliminary round in Luanda before a goalless second leg while United received a bye.
However, the newly appointed gaffer is no stranger to the Confederation Cup, having guided the Pretoria-based side through the group stage last year before Tinkler took charge.
The match is set to start at 4 pm CAT.
