Evans Rusike has refused to be compared with former SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie.
Rusike was signed by United from Maritzburg United after Brockie made a switch to City rivals Mamelodi Sundowns last month. He’s already found the back of the net, in a 4-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Absa Premiership.
In an interview with KickOff.com, a South African football website, Rusike said he will not put himself under pressure to play like Brockie
“I can’t say I am replacing someone. Obviously, when someone leaves, I come in and fill up the space. It’s the same when I left Maritzburg, someone must fill up the space,” Rusike said.
“He [Brockie] has his own type of play and I have my own way of playing. I will do my own thing and I won’t put myself under pressure [to do what Brockie did].”
The Zimbabwe international is expected to return to action, after missing the last game, when Supersport take on Platinum Stars on Tuesday.
