Tendai Ndoro marked his return to the ABSA Premiership with a bang when he scored on his debut for Ajax Cape Town in a 3-1 victory over Platinum Stars.
The striker joined the Cape Town-based side last week from Saudi Arabian-outfit Al-Faisaly.
Ndoro started on the first team and made some good chances. His first real opportunity came in the 36th minute when his strike missed the target by inches after fellow country-man Gerald Takwara set him up.
The former Orlando Pirates player also came close in the second half when his spectacular bicycle kick was saved by the goalkeeper. His breakthrough came on the 90th minute when he fired home a powerful shot which reached the roof of the net.
Meanwhile, Takwara made his first start for the Urban Warriors.
Elsewhere, Evans Rusike scored a superb goal in Maritzburg United’s 4-0 home win against Bloemfontein Celtic.
Rusike’s grounder found the back of the net in the 93rd minute to seal the victory for United. The striker had missed the target from a point-blank range a few moment earlier.
