Zimbabwean midfielder Kundai Benyu has failed to make an impact at Celtic since joining the Scottish giants from Ipswich Town in August this year.
The 20-year old has made only one league appearance since his arrival and played just four games in all competitions. He last featured for the team in August in a league encounter against Kilmarnock.
Olivier Ntcham (signed from Manchester City but was on loan with Serie A side Genoa) and Odsonne Edouard ( a loanee from PSG ) who were also signed in August have made an impact this season.
However, considering Benyu’s age and recent arrival, it’s not fair to expect too much from him. Also, before he joined Celtic, the midfielder was on loan with Aldershot Town, a club which plays in the fifth tier of English football.
Unlike Ntcham and Edouard who were playing in top flight leagues, it will take some time for the Zimbabwean to adapt.
The January transfer window opens next week and a loan move will be ideal for him to have game time. The player needs playing time to continue his development.
