ZIFA president, Dr Phillip Chiyangwa will be a guest of the South African Football Association (SAFA) on Saturday in Pretoria, South Africa when Supersport United host TP Mazembe in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final.

Dr Chiyangwa, who is also the COSAFA president and vice president of the Africa Cup of Nations Organising Committee, has been invited by his counterpart Danny Jordaan of SAFA.

‘I am honoured to be part of this grand finale, not only on my own behalf, but also on behalf of COSAFA and Zimbabwe as a whole.

“The recognition is to the nation and its achievement in contributing to the development of the game of football in Zimbabwe, the region and the continent,” said Dr Chiyangwa.

ZIFA’s leadership has continued to play an important role in the development of football across the continent and this invitation provides another opportunity for Dr Chiyangwa to interact with his peers on the continent.

Further, Dr Chiyangwa’s invitation comes hot on the heels of his deputy, Omega Sibanda’s appointment to the CAF Committee for Futsal and Beach soccer. – ZIFA
