Former Chapungu United coach John Nyikadzino is happy to return to top flight football after guiding a Shurugwi based side Nichrut into the premiership.

Nichrut gained promotion in to the Premier Soccer League after they were crowned Central Region Division One Champions on Sunday after beating Chrome Stars 1-0.

“It feels great to win the championship and with the victory we will be playing premiership football with the big boys of Zimbabwe football next season,” said Nyikadzino.

“I would like to thank the Almighty GOD for the guidance because its him who made it happen. I would also want to thank the owner of the club Mr Nicholas Gara who made it possible by providing everything for us in this harsh economic environment, without his help it was going to be very difficult.”

Nyikadzino was appointed coach of the Shurugwi side at the start of this season after he parted ways with Chapungu where he spent five seasons.  The club joined the Central Division last year and they finished 8th in their debut season. They became the first side from the small town to gain promotion in the premiership.
