Shurugwi based side Nichrut FC were promoted in to the Premier Soccer League after they were crowned ZIFA Central Region Division One champions.

The new Central Region champions finished the season on 76 points, two ahead of second placed Tongogara. Wha Wha was third with 71 points. They wrapped up their season with a 1-0 win over Chrome Stars.

Nichrut FC became the first team from Shurugwi to gain promotion to the top flight league.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo Chiefs from the Southern Region and Herentals from the Northern Region are the other two teams that will participate in premiership next year. Mutare City are currently leading the Eastern Region and could bounce back in to the PSL if they manage to maintain their momentum.
