Sadio Mane will not play against South Africa on Tuesday after his hamstring problems flared up.
The speedy winger picked a hamstring injury in the last international break and was out of action for four weeks.
Mane is said to have “slightly” felt his hamstring in the 2-0 win in Polokwane on Friday. The player returned to England for treatment after Senegal FA agreed to exclude him in their game on Tuesday.
A statement by Senegal FA read:
Sadio Mane has slightly felt his old injury. After consultations between the medical staff of the national team of Senegal and Liverpool, it was decided by mutual agreement for his club to continue treatment until full recovery.
The 25 year old assisted both goals which sealed Senegal’s World Cup qualification last Friday.
