Shabanie Mine coach Takesure Chiragwi conceded his team missed the opportunity to move out of relegation when they were held to a 1-1 draw by a determined Triangle United on Sunday.
Bruno Mutigo scored the hosts’ solitary goal in the 53rd minute while Lameck Nhamo swept home his team’s equaliser in the 90th minute. Shabanie desperately needed the win to move out of the relegation zone. The Chinda Boys are now on 32 points two behind Yadah who occupies 14th position.
“Yes, we missed the chance to move out of the relegation zone with this draw. We thought we had wrapped the game after the goal but we forgot that the game was still on and we got punished in the last minute. Bang! Its a goal,” said Chiragwi.
“We need to appreciate, our opponents took a beautiful shot and the goalkeeper tried to save it but the reaction of our defenders of giving cover to the keeper was very slow and Nhamo was the quickest and he scored.”
However the coach is confident of avoiding the chop.
“I am confident that we’ll make it to safety. If you look at the point difference between us and the team above us its only 2. We still have four games to play so we are still there. We as Shabanie still believe we wont get relegated, we will fight very hard. We will try to get maximum points in our next away game to Black Rhinos.”
