FC PLatinum coach Norman Mapeza says his team’s core objective is to win the remaining matches and clinch the league championship at the end of the season.
The Zvishavane side moved to the top of the table after beating their rivals Shabanie Mine 2-0 in a derby played on Wednesday. Rodwell Chinyengetere and Mkokheli Dube went on target in the second half after the teams went to the half time on deadlock.
Mapeza said he was not worried about the pressure associated with being on top, rather they will keep on fighting to remain there.
“I am not worried about my team being on top. I know the pressure that comes with being on top of the log. Our objective now is to keep on fighting and see the position we will be come the end of the season,’’ he said.
“The most important thing right now is to win the league at the end of the season not being on top before the end. ”
Pure Platinum Play now have 59 points, one point ahead of second placed Dynamos who dropped points against Tsholotsho.
Meanwhile, the Wednesday game was Mapeza’s 100th league match at FC Platinum since he joined the club in 2014.
