Team Zimbabwe had a false start in their campaign at the on going 2017 Copa Coca-Cola Global Challenge in Durban, South Africa.

The boys went down 8-3  to South Africa Select 1 in their opening group A match. They foolowed up with another heavy loss when they fell 11-6 to Russia Select 1.

On the other side, the Zimbabwe girls also lost both of their two matches on the opening day. In their first encounter, they were defeated 4-2 by KZN Provincial Select 1 before they succumbed to a 5-1 loss in the hands of KZN Provincial Select 2.
