Barcelona maintained their 100% record after they beat Las Palmas behind closed doors at Camp Nou on Sunday.
Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi were on target in the second half to give Barca their seventh win of the season.
Busquets broke the deadlock in the 49th minute from a coner kick. Messi then weighed in with a brace inside the final 20 minutes to increase Barcelona’s advantage.
However captain Iniesta picked a late injury which forced him out of the game before the final whistle. The match ended 3-0 in favour of Barcalona.
At Santiego Bernabeu, Isco struck twice to help Real Madrid beat Espanyol 2-0.
The forward found the net in each half as Madrid stayed within seven points of current leaders Barcelona. The hosts were presented with several chances and controlled the ball position but they only found the back of the net just over the half hour mark.
Isco completed his brace in the second half when he struck home a cut back from Marco Asensio on the edge of the box.
Real Madrid are now fifth on the current log standings.
