Dynamos dropped points where it mattered most when they drew 1-1 against Shabanie Mine at Maglas Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
The Glamour Boys blew a chance to go three points clear on top in the last minutes of the game after Ocean Mushure had sent them in to the early lead.
The game started on high tempo and Ocean Mushure knocked in his freekick to the back of the net with just five minutes played. Shabanie only came back in to the game towards the half hour mark when they made their first real attempt on goal when Farai Mupasiri’s header was saved by the goalkeeper.
The Chinda Boys kept their momentum afterwards in search of an equaliser but they went to half time trailing.
They resumed the second half from where they left and continued to put pressure on Dynamos who had a solid back line at that time. Bvaru Bvaru finally got their backthrough when Mupasiri equalised in the 87th minute.
The late equaliser did not only hand Dynamos a set back in their quest of easing pressure at the top of the table, but they failed to break the jinx by winning at Maglas.
At Barbourfields, Highlanders settled for a point after they drew 0-0 against Bantu Rovers.
The game saw few chances created in the first 30 minutes. Bosso were the first to make a real strike when Adrian Silla’s freekick missed the goal by inches. Bantu got a chance in the second half when they earned a freekick on the edge of the box but Tapuwa Khumbuyani’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper.
History was made on the 70th minute when Bantu’s 15 year old Sibusiso Moyo was introduced to the game replacing Pride Zivengwa.
The game ended with both teams tied in a stalemate.
Elsewhere, Harare City scored late in the game to secure three vital points against Chapungu which kept them away from relegation zone.
Wilfred Muvirimi’s goal in the 90+2 minute was what the Sunshine Boys wanted to grab the victory.
