FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza says he is targeting a win over Chapungu in the Chibuku Super Cup which will perfectly put them in position to reach for a double this season.
Pure Platinum Play had a disastrous season last year when they lost both the League Cup and Championship in the last hurdle. They were beaten by Ngezi Platinum Stars in the final of the Super Cup after they lost the Championship title to CAPS United a week earlier.
However, Mapeza believes that a win in the first round will position them in right place to achieve what they missed in the previous season.
“This competition has given us an opportunity to fight on the two fronts. We will put our whole effort like what we always do in other tournaments,” he said.
“I think we have done ourselves a good favour by doing well in the league. The most important thing for us to do is to beat Chapungu. If we do that, the doors to achieve a double will be opened.”
The Zvishavane based side is currently on third position with 51 points. They are one point behind log leaders Dynamos.
