We will put a better performance: Akbay

Highlanders coach Erol Akbay is optimistic his team will put up a better performance when they play Dynamos in a match day 25 headlining fixture.

Akbay who became the first Bosso coach in a decade to complete a league double over the Glamour Boys last season declared in the build up to the Super Sunday game that their recent poor form counts for nothing when it comes to taking on Dynamos.

Speaking to the Sunday News, the gaffer said his boys will be motivated by the intensity of the clash to put a much improved display than the way they have played in recent times.

“Even if we have lost 10 games in a row but in this kind of game you see different things. You saw last year with Dynamos they were losing lots of matches but when they played us you saw a different Dynamos, this weekend you will see a different Highlanders,’’ said Akbay.

Tshilamoya has gone for four matches without a win. They have never scored in their last five games and conceded seven goals on the way.

However the Dutchman still believes in his strikers saying they are hungry than ever and will score against Dembare today.

“I saw how bad they want to score goals, the strikers want to score goals, I was happy with what I saw,’’ he said.

The Battle of Zimbabwe is scheduled for Rufaro stadium at 1500 hours and it will be live on Supersport
