Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa sang songs of praises on chief striker Christian Epoupa after the Cameroonian scored a brace that ended Caps United ‘s six match unbeaten run.
Epoupa made a huge difference in the Harare derby scoring a goal in each half to give Dynamos a crucial win and most importantly a sixth straight victory.
The former Cameroon Under 23 international was also on target against Yadah last week leaving the coach to label the mainstay of Dynamos.
” When we bought him, people were laughing at us saying we have bought a player from the streets. But us we believed in him and now he is the mainstay of the team scoring crucial goals,” said Mutasa.
” He has shown leadership qualities and is a very inspirational player to the youngsters. He is leading by example and is such a vital member of the team and we wish that he continues playing such a big role,”.
Epoupa’s participation was thrown into doubt after missing training on Thursday as his handlers were trying to push for a transfer to Ajax Cape Town of South Africa.
The deal fell through on the last minute and the striker returned to Dynamos training on Friday.
His worth to Dynamos was put to the fore as his goals proved the difference giving the Glamour Boys their first Harare derby in three years.
