Highlanders head coach Erol Akbay has stated that their his team is desperately looking for a scoring formular in order to win matches.
This follows the departure of his trusted striking patnership of Prince Dube who left for South Africa’s premiership side SuperSport United, and Roderick Mutuma who left by mutual consent to Church team Yadah FC.
Highlanders has produced disappointing display in their last 4 matches only managing to win once against fellow strugglers Shabanie Mine while losing to Bulawayo City and ZPC Kariba, against Harare City they gallantly held to a goalless draw.
Speaking to the Newsday, Akbay admited things have not been going his way form the team but however is optimistic that a winning formular will be struck with available attacking options of Ralph Matema, Godfrey Makaruse, Gabriel Nyoni, Nhlanhla Ndlovu and the youngster Ray Lunga.
“In the last few weeks it has not been going the way I want with my team, but we are still working,” Akbay told the Newsday.
“We are still working on finding the best 11 because even our strike force is not getting those chances that we normally we got. We used to get eight chances to score, but now we get only two or four. What it means is we have to find the best system of play that we can use. I hope we find the solution very fast. The way we are playing from defence to the midfield is okay and thereafter it is not. There are a lot of wrong decisions that are being made and that is why we are not creating many chances.”
The pressure will certainly be back on Bosso as they face winless Tsholotsho in what would appear as an easy tie on Wednesday.
