Ngezi Platinum maintained their grip at the top of the Castle Lager Premiership when they hammered Yadah 4-1 at Baobab Stadium this afternoon.
It only took three minutes for Ngezi Platinum to open the scoring with Tichaona Mabvura on target.
Walter Mukanga doubled the lead in the 12th minute after being left unattended to by the Yadah defence.
Just before the halftime break Yadah were handed a lifeline when Liberty Chakoroma handled ad Dennis Dauda header resulting in a penalty which Wellington Kamudyariwa converted.
Yadah came back a better side in the second half as they searched for the equaliser with Mutuma coming close to scoring on the 64th minute.
However any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed when Keith Murera made it three in the 75th minute.
Mukanga then wrapped up the win with second of the match in the 85th minute. The result sees Ngezi Platinum stay at the top with 43 points from 21 games.
At Mandava Stadium Takesure Chinyama scored his first goal in FC Platinum as they came from behind to beat Bulawayo City 3-1.
Newman Sianchali put Bulawayo City into the lead with a clever chip over Petros Mhari. The lead didn’t last too long with FC Platinum back level only three minutes later after Alert Mangadze put the ball into the back of his own net.
Two minutes before the break Winston Mhango thrust FC Platinum ahead with a well taken free kick.
Takesure Chinyama then sealed victory after a sweeping attacking move. At Luveve Stadium Chicken Inn maintained the pressure on the log leaders with a 2-0 victory over Triangle.
Moses Jackson and Innocent Mucheneka were on target for the Gamecocks.
Harare City got the better of Shabanie winning 2-0 at Rufaro Stadium while Chapungu and How Mine played out a goalless draw.
In an early kickoff Bantu Rovers registered their third win of the season when they beat struggling Black Rhinos. It was the fourth straight defeat for Rhinos.
