Former premier league champions, Dynamos, are set to add three new players to their ranks with their clearance to participate in the weekend clash against Black Rhinos lying with the Premier Soccer League (PSL), according to head coach, Lloyd Mutasa.
The ‘Glamour Boys’, who have seen a positive turn-around of fortunes towards the end of the first round of premier league matches, are looking to beef up their squad with the additions, who names the club have withheld as they are still awaiting PSL licences.
Speaking ahead of their weekend clash against Black Rhinos away, Mutasa said the team – which saw defender, Elisha Muroiwa, and midfielder, Wisdom Mutasa, leave for Tanzanian to flight side, Singida United beginning of July – has been looking to bolster the centre back position, midfield position and a forward position.
“Yeah, within our ranks we looked at the areas we would want to beef up. We looked at the centre back [position], we looked at central midfield and upfront. So we are looking at three players whom we have right now but probably it would be befitting if we can talk about that when we really have their licences in our hands,” Mutasa told journalists at the club’s training ground.
The mid-season transfer window shut on Monday 31st July and Mutasa said the papers of the players in question are available and the trio could feature in their reverse clash against Black Rhinos at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday if PSL produced their licences on time.
“. . . what probably we can say is we have three players we are training with and we hope that all of them or some of them might have a run come Saturday if everything goes well because all the papers are there. We just want to see if their licenses will be there before the weekend game.
“Like I said before, although their names are already at PSL, it would probably be befitting for me as a coach to say them out when we have the documents (licenses) with us,” he said.
He said despite the additions, one player whom he could not name could also leave the former premier league champions to make a total of three departures including Muroiwa and Mutasa.
“We have the two [departures] Elisha [Muroiwa] and Wisdom [Mutasa] and probably the third person who can move out . . . is still with the guys. You look at it in a manner that you probably wouldn’t want to disadvantage [the player] . . . the transfer window is closed, you axe one, maybe there’s nowhere he can go and play.
“So whoever will be chopped will be training with the team for the remainder of the season”, he said.
