Zimbabwe crashed out of the CHAN 2018 qualifiers after losing 5-4 on penalties to Namibia.
Warriors goalkeeper Herbert Rushawo missed the only penalty after the match had ended 1-0 in favour of the Warriors in regular time.
The match headed into a penalty shoot-out due to a 1-1 aggregate
Namibia threatened for most of the first half and had the upper hand but it was the Warriors that took the lead
Prince Dube put the Warriors in the 39th minute when he out muscled the Namibian defence before shooting.
The second half saw the Warriors continue to offer little going forward while constantly losing the ball.
Namibia could have scored on the break in added time but neither side would score in the half resulting in the shoot out.
Devon Chafa, Milton Ncube, Praise Tonha, Dennis Dauda all converted their spot kick but Black Rhinos keeper Herbert Rusawo had his saved as Namibia proceeded.
Namibia will now proceed to the next round of the competition. It will be the first time the Warriors have failed to progress to the tournament.
