CAPS United have been handed a glimmer of hope despite going down to Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli 4-2 at the National Sports Stadium.
CAPS United ‘s other fellow Group B opponents Zamalek and USM Alger drew 1-1 to keep the group wide open.
The result means CAPS United can still bounce back to qualify for the quarter-finals if they manage positive results in their upcoming games despite currently being at the bottom.
However, the Green Machine will need to improve after a poor performance which Chitembwe blamed on inadequate preparations due to a number of injured players.
CAPS United will face Al Ahli away in their next Group match.
Group B standings
