CAPS United midfielder, Moses Muchenje, says the team must throw in everything to win when they play USM Alger in the CAF champions league group stages at home at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Wednesday.
The two teams are playing each other for the first time in a group B encounter where the hosts must collect maximum points at home as they look to minimize pressure in their group. USM Alger won 3-0 at home against Al Ahly Tripoli while CAPS United lost 2-0 away to Zamalek.
Speaking at the club’s training session, the 25-year-old said they have shifted focus from Zamalek to the match against the Algerians saying that the morale is very high within the camp.
“Yeah, we look forward to it. It’s one game we must win at all costs. Considering that we lost in Zamalek, it’s a must win match for us.
“Yeah, the Zamalek game is now water under the bridge and we have shifted focus to that team form Algeria and the morale is very high in the camp, like I said before, everyone is looking forward to it,” he told journalists.
“. . . we just want to do better than we did in Egypt and hopefully if we continue working hard like what we did, we’ll come out with a good result. Also we need to utilize our chances. If we can score, that’s how we win games and it’s one area we should improve as team.”
Muchenje called on the club’s fans to come in their numbers as a morale booster and show support for the team.
“Of course we really need the support and . . . I’m urging all the supporters to rally behind the team because without them we are nothing . . .,” he said
