CAPS United suffered their first league defeat of the season when they went down 2-1 to ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga stadium this afternoon.
ZPC Kariba had a great chance to open the scoring when they were awarded a penalty in the 7th minute after Dauda had handled in the box. However, Raphael Manuvire’s effort was saved by Edmore Sibanda.
Ten minutes later ZPC Kariba did take the lead when Zvikumbawire had an neat exchange of passes with Nyamuzihwa before scoring.
ZPC Kariba continued to press and were unlucky not to double the lead in the 24th minute when Never Tigere struck the post.
CAPS United needed a big response in the second half and got off to a great start when Abbas Amidu equalised.
CAPS United started to enjoy more chances but were guilty of not taking them with Moses Muchenje and Ronald Pfumbidzai coming very close to scoring.
When the match seemingly destined for a draw Never Tigere scored from a 90th-minute free kick to hand maximum points to ZPC Kariba.
The result sees Sunday Chidzambwa’s side climb to the top of the standings while CAPS United are in 8th position.
