Chapungu confident of upsetting Highlanders

Chapungu mentor Tendai Chikuni says he is not worried about Chapungu’s poor record against Highlanders when the two sides clash at Ascot Stadium in a Castle Lager premiership encounter on Saturday.

The airmen have only beat Highlanders twice at Ascot Stadium since the turn of the millennium.

“Waru Waru” recent victory against Bosso was in 2015 when they edged the Bulawayo giants 1-0. Before that Chapungu’s only other win against Highlanders was in 2003 when they beat the latter by the same margin.

Despite the odds heavily stacked against them Chikuni believes his side will turn things around and collect their first of maximum points on Sunday.

“I do not want to speak about records because every game is a different ball game with different characters. We respect Highlanders as a big institution but we are prepared for them and I am confident that we will collect our first three points on Saturday,” said Chikuni.

It will be a tall order for Chikuni’s charges who are still to register  a win this season against a Bosso outfit which has been enjoying a place in the sun and are table toppers.

Chapungu anchor the log with just two points.
