Zimbabwean international Evans Rusike has signed a contract extension with ABSA Premiership side Maritzburg United.
Rusike has been linked with moves to Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs in the past by Martizburg United has always insisted they were not ready to sell their prized possession to a South African club.
Now the club has exercised the option of extending his current deal by two more years
Speaking about renewing his deal Rusike told the official club wesbite“I was happy to join the club last season and help to survive relegation.
Now that the club has exercised the option, I have to stay focused. I have a job here. It’s an opportunity for me to keep improving on my game,” added Rusike
Maritzburg United Marketing and Communications Manager Brian Zuma was happy with the extension: “Evans is our property and we’re still expecting a lot from him. He is not for sale until the time is right, and if and when that happens, proper channels will have to be followed,” said Zuma.
