Zvishavane rivals FC Platinum and Shabanie will renew their rivalry this weekend when they clash in the CG Msipa set for Saturday at Maglas Stadium.
Both teams are keen to use the match as they continue preparations for the upcoming league season. Shabanie who are back in the league after winning the Central Region title are now under the guidance of Taku Shariwa and will likely face their biggest test so far in FC Platinum.
FC Platinum have enjoyed a good pre-season thus far and were in South Africa recently as part of their preparations.
The final is sponsored to the tune of $20 000 with winners get $6 000 and the losing getting $4000 , $5000 will go to the CG Msipa trust .The trust will also get the gate takings from the match.
Speaking ahead of the match FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo said, ‘This is a great derby and it’s an interesting way to start the season.
‘This will work as a litmus test for us and this gives the coach the opportunity to assess strengths and weaknesses of the team as we get into the new season .
