Capetown City boss says his team reacted quickly to sign Tatenda Mukuruva despite having 3 quality Goalkeepers at their Disposal.
The Warriors first choice keeper became the 4th goalkeeper signing for Capetown city. The 21 year old Mukuruva will certainly have work cut out for him to outmucscle regular shot stoppers Shu-Aib Walters, Samora Motloung and Gershin Kock.
Speaking to Kickoff.com Comitis alluded to the fact that the team needed to cover for injuries that have struck their goalkeeping department.
“Ten days ago we were enjoying our preparations when we got two injuries – both our goalkeepers went down in the same training session, Samora [Motloung] and Shu-Aib Walters,” club owner John Comitis told reporters.
“With that happening, and with us near the top of the league with certain aspirations, we needed to make sure we have that position covered, because in one instant, our key position was not at the level we hoped it to be.
“So we went and signed an international goalkeeper who we were watching during the Afcon, Tatenda Mukuruva. We realised he was a free agent and could sign him outside the window, so we reacted quickly and got him here, and he should be ready and available for the weekend [against Ajax Cape Town].” he added.
