Ever since signing for Aldershot Town F.C on a short term contract from Ipswich Town in around mid December 2016, 19 year old England born Zimbabwean midfielder, Kundai Benyu is enjoying a remarkable rise in his career – establishing himself as one of the most influential players at Garry Waddock coached side just few weeks after joining the club.
A skillful and stylish central midfielder, Benyu has been a revelation at The Shots, featuring in three successive league wins for the club and named man of the match in their last 2-1 win match against Southport F.C yesterday at Aldershot Recreational stadium in less than a month at the club.
Kundai Benyu is by far the most exciting talent to come out of Ipswich Town academy having turned professional in February 2015 at the Tractorboys.
The Zimbabwean was given a one month Youth contract by England National league side, Aldershot Town through a new ‘Boost The Budget’ scheme – an Aldershot fans initiative to help the club sign quality players – and is slowly entrenching himself as one of The Shots’ regular players and a bigger part in Garry Waddock’s future plans.
Benyu has played in six matches for The Shots, winning three times drawing once and losing only twice during his period at the club so far and the team is currently sitting on the seventh position in the National league table with 45 points from 28 matches.
It is now left to be seen what will happen to the Zimbabwean rising star’s contract situation as his short term deal at Aldershot Town F.C is coming to an end next week.
The Camden – born midfielder is still contracted to Ipswich Town football club until next summer.
