Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa has hit out at social media criticism received by his players currently preparing for AFCON 2017.
Pasuwa believes some of his players have been unfairly targeted with criticism in recent weeks with baseless accusations which paint a wrong picture.
Pasuwa singled Khama Billiat,Tatenda Mukuruva,Cuthbert Malajila,Tendai Ndoro and Knowledge Musona for receiving the most abuse.
The Warriors gaffer instead called on the nation to rally behind the squad now more than ever.
“What we need now more than ever is the unity and support of everyone Pasuwa told the Herald.
“We have a very tough mission ahead of us and the mission in Gabon is not for my personal glory or the glory of the players but for every Zimbabwean.
“I am surprised and disappointed that at a time when we should be encouraging these boys and motivating them to go out there and die for the nation ,we seem to be bent on destroying and abusing them.
Pasuwa is expected to finalize his 23 man squad for the tournament by tomorrow in time for CAF’s 4 January deadline.
