CAPS United players focused on title says Jere

CAPS United owner Farai Jere has denied reports suggesting his players had downed tools earlier this week over outstanding money.

The Green Machine are on the verge of a first league title since 2005 and lead the standing with 57 points with two games to play.

On Tuesday training is understood to have been delayed with reports suggesting players had downed tools. However Jere met the players and indicated the players only wanted an audience with him.

“They just wanted to see me to find out if we are going to participate in the CAF Champions League said Jere .

There were not threating to down tools I don’t know where that is coming from he added.

CAPS United have a tricky encounter this weekend against Ngezi Platinum. The PSL debutants are in a confident mood after clinching the Chibuku Super Cup and are aiming for a strong finish in the league.

Ngezi Platinum are currently in 8th spot with 38 points.
