Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa says foreign based players are not guaranteed a place in the African Cup Nations squad.
Pasuwa selected locally based players for the friendly match against Zambia at the weekend and encouraged the players to leave an impression on the technical team.
Speaking at yesterday’s squad unveiling Pasuwa said, This game (against Zambia) is to strengthen for future assignments.
We are not giving preference to foreign based players if the local players impress us they will be to travel and play in finals.
Pasuwa’s final squad is expected to be a mix of locally and foreign based players. Meanwhile ZIFA has indicated they have organised another international friendly this time against Ivory Coast.
ZIFA President Philip Chiyangwa said the Warriors would clash with Ivory Coast on the 26th of December .
“Ivory Coast are right at the top of world rankings so we would want to be playing teams that are above us added Chiyangwa.
