After being handed another $2 000 fine early today by Premier Soccer League, Highlanders chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede said their season’s fine tally has now hit $16 000.
The cash strapped Bulawayo football giants are already sitting on a ballooning debt understood to be in the region of $1 million debt.
The latest fine came after Bosso were edged 1-0 by Ngezi Platinum in a Chibuku Cup semi-final played at Barbourfields Stadium.
“Unfortunately, I have just received another $2 000 fine said Gumede. We are told it is for missile throwing by our fans against Ngezi Platinum. The fines have accumulated to about $16 000 now,” said Gumede.
“We have always told our fans to desist from that and I don’t know what kind of language they understand,” added a seemingly disappointed Gumede.
On Saturday Bosso face Tsholotsho FC in a make or break league tie at Emagumeni.
A week later they will travel to Midlands for a date against fellow title contender FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium
