Zimbabwean international Khama Billiat has expressed his delight after clinching the CAF Champions League with Sundowns.
Sundowns lost the second leg in Egypt 1-0 on Sunday night but clinched the cup on a 3-1 aggregate. Sundowns were forced to defend for most of the game while Billiat and Percy Tau tried to score on the break.
Billiat becomes the second Zimbabwean after former TP Mazembe player Chris Samakweri won the competition with the DRC side in 2010.
“All the credit to God said Billiat after the game. We knew what we had to be done after the first leg. “It has not been all nice, the journey has had ups and downs ,through the grace of God we are the champions. We give glory to him
“We are now going (to FIFA Club World Cup). We now want to go and enjoy playing with the very best he added.
The FIFA World Cup will be held in Japan in December. Other continental championship winners who will be at the competition include Real Madrid, Atlético Nacional (from South America) and Club America (from North America).
