Highlanders will this afternoon square off against Ngezi Platinum for the third time this afternoon when the two sides clash in the Chibuku Super Cup 2nd semi final to determine the team to meet FC Platinum who are already in the finals.
FC Platinum conquered over Harare City 3-0 to book a place in the final.
Highlanders will get into the match as undoubtedly clear favourites after having triumphed in their league duels over Ngezi winning 4-1 away at Baobab Stadium and a 2-1 win at Babourfields Stadium in the return leg.
The Bulawayo giants are easily the best team in the country at the moment riding on an impressive 9 match winning streak, with 7 in league and 2 in the Chibuku Cup.
However despite the purple patch, Highlanders are Wary of the threat that the Platinum miners may pose.
In an interview with the Sunday News, Bosso Coach Erol Akbay feels he has played the opponent so mch to read their game and will target goals in the first half to relax matters in the second half.
“We know how they play, two times we have played against then, I think they want to draw and go to penalties, we have to make sure that we don’t go to penalties, we have to score two, three times in the first half and play easy in the second half,’’ said Akbay.
The match promises to be a thriller judging by the previous battles of the team. Despite falling on both occasions, Ngezi gave a good account of themselves and will fancy their chances in a Cup competition.
