In the UEFA Champions League Real Madrid thrashed Polish  side Legia Warsaw 5-1 while Borussia Dortmund edged Sporting Lisbon 2-1.

Gareth Bale opened the scoring for Real Madrid before an own goal and goals from Asensio,Vazquez and Morata completed the win.

In the other group game Borussia Dortmund remained on top with a 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon.First half goals by Aubameyang and Julian Weigil put Dortmund in front but Bruno Cesar pulled one back for the Portuguese side.

Bayer Leverkusen played out a goalless draw with Tottenham while Leicester maintained a 100% start with a 1-0 win over FC Koebenhavn. Riyad Mahrez scored the all-important goal after being set up by countryman Islam Slimani
