CAPS United got back to winning ways in style with a 4-1 win over Mutare City at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
The Green Machine went into the match winless in their past three matches but put that behind as they cruised past Mutare City.
Tafadzwa Rusike put CAPS United in front after Tsipa and Bamusi had combined well.
Rusike had to substituted in the 28th minute after an injury. In the 43rd minute Leonard Tsipa made up for some earlier misses when he doubled CAPS United’s lead after Victor Twaliki parried the ball into his path after saving Joel Ngodzo’s initial shot.
In the 61st minute Agrippa Murimba pulled one back for Mutare City. Just when Mutare City thought they were back in the game Joel Ngodzo capped a fine performance with a well taken goal. Ngodzo spotted Victor Twaliki off his line and scored with a long range effort.
In the 85th minute Twaliki made another error when he failed to keep the ball allowing Simba Nhivi to score the fourth.
With log leaders FC Platinum drawing 1-1 at Mandava at Chicken Inn, CAPS United reduce the gap at the top to three.
At Luveve Stadium ZPC Kariba moved third on the table with a 2-1 win over Tsholotsho. Timire Mavura and Lincolin Zvasiya scored for ZPC Kariba with Tsholotsho pull one back through Denford Chirwa.
At Ascot Chapungu hammered Border Strikers 3-0.
