In the Castle Lager Premiership this afternoon there were wins for Tsholotsho and Ngezi Platinum while Harare City and Chicken Inn drew one all.
Tsholotsho recorded only their third win of the season and did so in some style thrashing Hwange 3-0. Mustafa Ponyera scored a brace for the home side before Blessing Sibanda added a third.
Ponyera’s second was impressive as he shot from outside the box to score a spectacular goal. The win will be a welcome boost for Tsholotsho who have been hit by financial challenges as well as losing key players in recent weeks.
At Baobab Stadium Tonderai Ndiraya’s good run with Ngezi Platinum continued when they thrashed Triangle 3-1. Ndiraya has now won three and drawn one since taking over as head coach. Ngezi Platinum move to 7th with 21 points after the win.
At Rufaro Stadium there was delay in kick off in the match between Harare City and Chicken Inn after Maxwell Nyamupanedengu’s jersey had the wrong name. When the match finally started Francisco Zekumbawire gave Harare City the lead in the 50th minute when he headed in. Pride Tafirenyika equalised for the Gamecocks in the 73rd to make sure the points were shared.
