The Uganda cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has questioned ZIFA’s decision to host the International friendly pitting the Warriors and Uganda on artificial turf at Rufaro Stadium.
Both teams are using the match to fine tune preparations for the AFCON 2017 qualifiers set for the weekend. Zimbabwe play Malawi at the National Sports Stadium on the 5th of June while Uganda play Botswana on the 4th.
The Ugandan Coach expressed concern over placing the match on the artificial turf at Rufaro Stadium whilst both teams are preparing for matches on natural grass.
“Since we are both going to play on natural grass in the AFCON 2017 qualifiers, why then take the international build up to astro turf?”, Questioned Micho as quoted by Ugandan online publication Kawowo Sports.
Meanwhile, the Uganda team had to switch their training camp to an artificial turf to prepare for the match. They are expected in the country on Monday at midday.
The friendly match will be staged at Rufaro Stadium on Tuesday
