The government through the Ministry of Sport and Recreation has expressed its concern following the events that marked FC Platinum’s win over Dynamos.
Violence erupted with Dynamos fans protesting with the leadership of Kenny Mubaiwa and engaged in running battles with the police and the club security.
The actions caused damage to property and the ministry says it was a disturbing image for the local football scene.
A statement from the ministry of sport read: Contrary to the values of sport Dynamos fans went on a rampage, destroying property and attacking individuals in ugly scenes of violence at Rufaro Stadium.
Government is concerned by this violent behaviour which should not be allowed to continue.
That remedial action should be taken to arrest all errant behaviour at, during and after matches so as to encourage investment in sport in general and football in particular.
Dynamos could also be facing a heavy ban from the PSL for their fans behaviour.
Meanwhile the ministry has also slammed the actions of ZIFA excutive committe member Cecilia Gambe after she invaded the pitch during a match between How Mine and Mutare City to protest the officiating and threatened the referee.
